Introducing Trailbox Talks

Welcome to “Trailbox Talks” – Your Guide to Safer Riding

Hi, I’m Denise Erickson, Vice President of the Canadian Quad Council (CQC).

Every year, the first week of June is recognized as “Quad Safety Week” across Canada, a time dedicated to promoting safe riding practices, raising awareness, and encouraging riders to take proactive steps to ensure their safety on the trails. This year, we are excited to launch a new “Trailbox Talks” initiative—a series of informative articles and videos designed to spark healthy, open discussions about safe riding practices among friends, families, and fellow riders.

What is Trailbox Talks?

“Trailbox Talks” provides you with relevant, practical information on everything from ATV safety gear to safe riding techniques. We want these talks to remind us that safety is a conversation that never ends. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just starting, Trailbox Talks will equip you with valuable insights that help promote a safer riding experience for you, your family, and your entire riding community.

This series is meant to be a community-driven initiative where we share knowledge and engage in meaningful conversations about making our sport safer and more enjoyable. By discussing safety issues openly, we hope to foster a culture where safety becomes as much a part of our riding routine as the thrill of the sport itself.

What You Can Expect

We’ll be rolling out new content regularly throughout June and July, so be sure to check back for fresh installments. Topics will include:

  • Rider safety gear (helmets, boots, gloves, and more)
  • Pre-ride vehicle checks and how to ensure your ATV or side-by-side is in top condition
  • Planning a safe ride (from choosing the right terrain to carrying the right supplies)
  • Mental and physical preparedness for your rides
  • And much more!

We want these Trailbox Talks to be interactive—so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts, questions, and experiences with us. Let’s work together to keep safety in mind as we enjoy our time on the trails.

How You Can Get Involved

We encourage all riders, especially those new to the sport, to take some time to explore the information we’ve put together for you. Please share it with your local riding clubs, community organizations, and your family and friends. The more people we reach, the more we can spread the message of safe riding across Canada.

You can also help us grow this initiative by sharing the Trailbox Talks on your social media platforms. The more we share, the more riders will get involved, and together, we can make safety a bigger part of our riding culture.

Join the Movement

This isn’t just about safety for a week—Quad Safety Week is about kick-starting a year-round commitment to safety, and we believe Trailbox Talks will play a key role in that. Together, we can help reduce accidents and injuries, promote a culture of responsible riding, and, most importantly, ensure everyone can enjoy the sport they love.

Thank you for being part of this vital initiative. Stay safe, ride responsibly, and enjoy the trails!
